José Andrés, Joan Nathan & Alice Waters proudly present Sips & Suppers, two extraordinary evenings featuring the country’s finest chefs in support of DC Central Kitchen and Martha’s Table, organizations that serve the neediest individuals in the nation’s capital.
Sips will feature top artisans and mixologists preparing signature dishes and drinks.
For more than 25 years, DC Central Kitchen has pioneered a new model of using food as a tool to change lives. The organization provides nutritious meals to 80 nearby nonprofit partners, equips unemployed men and women to begin culinary careers, and creates healthy, scratch-cooked, locally-sourced meals for children at 10 DC schools. Through job training, healthy food distribution, and local small business partnerships, DC Central Kitchen offers path-breaking solutions to poverty, hunger, and poor health.
For over 35 years, Martha’s Table has worked to increase access to education, food, and opportunity in Washington, D.C., with the goal of supporting stronger children, families, and community. Martha’s Table operates free, pop-up grocery stores throughout the District, and McKenna’s Wagon, a daily mobile food delivery program for the city’s homeless. In addition, the organization runs two Martha’s Outfitters clothing shops, where families and individuals in need can shop for free, and offers premier early-childhood and out-of-school time education programs to children three months to 13 years of age. Martha’s Table provides supports that benefit thousands of District residents, and serves over 1 million meals annually.
All donations to the Suppers are tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law. Martha’s Table and DC Central Kitchen are each tax-exempt non-profit organizations under IRS code § 501 (C) (3). DC Central Kitchen’s Federal Tax ID number is 52-1584936. Martha’s Table Federal Tax ID number is 52-1186071.
